Get to know Me!

Get to know Me!

Get to know me Tag!

1. Are you named after anyone?

As you can see my name is pretty unique, well here in Scotland it is any how. I am led to believe it is a common welsh name. Bronwyn – is the name of my mothers cousin but I don’t think I was particularly named after her, my granny just liked it and my mum agreed to call me it. That’s pretty much it haha!

2. When was the last time you cried?
I am a VERY emotional person who would cry over anything particularly when I am happy however last night I balled my eyes out whilst watching one of my favourite movies “the book thief” – I think it was a mixture of how sad it is and how amazingly made the movie is. I always cry at movies!!

3. Do you have kids?
No I don’t have any children at all. I will hopefully have children one day because I would love to be a mum, just have to wait and see what the future holds!

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

This is quite a hard question, difficult to think about! Think everyone would hope that they are a good friend and if life was to ever do a “Freaky Friday” style change over, I would hope I would choose myself to be a friend. I think I am quite understanding and I am a good listener, usually friends come to me with their problems and I am almost always brilliant at giving advice – if I do say so myself haha!

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I try to use sarcasm but never do it very well, end up laughing at my own attempts at being funny and being smart, definitely not something I am very good at.

6. Whats the first thing you notice about people?
Phisically, its always someone’s teeth which is really strange but my eyes are completely drawn to them. If someone has lovely white straight teeth I always find myself commenting on how they stand out so much to me. As opposed to this, I always notice people’s bodily twitches, for example is someone is a nail biter or pulls their sleeves down when they are nervous. I almost always pick up on this, think it is due to my overly vigilant nature – quite a strange one eh…

7. What is your eye colour?
I have blue eyes, I would love to have much brighter blue eyes as mine are quite dull almost grey.

8. Scary movie or happy endings?
I love love love love scary movies (even though when I watch them I spent most the movie hiding behind a pillow with fear) – I haven’t always liked scary movies but since getting older, I love nothing more than curling up under a blanket on the couch with my fiancée and some popcorn in hand watching all the scary movies I can find on Netflix!

9. Favourite smells?
I love the smell of petrol! – this is a very strange part of me but I love smelling it when you go to the petrol station. I also love the smell of sun cream – just makes me think of all the amazing holidays I’ve been on and makes me wish every day was spent in the sun!
PASS THE COCONUT SUN CREAMS AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESIST!

10. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
Earlier this year I visited Uganda in Africa and this is the furthest I’ve ever been from home. I’d love to visit Australia and other places far from home, let’s just see where my travel bug takes me!

11. Do you have any special talents?
I would say I have legit no talents at all however maybe I haven’t found anything I am good at yet in life! Let’s just for the moment say my talent is being completely talentless haha!

12. Where were you born?
I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996 and now live in a small town just outside Glasgow!

13. What are your hobbies?
I love make up (obviously) and would consider this to be a hobby but other things I enjoy doing is seeing friends, going out for lunch and going shopping… are these hobbies?

14. Do you have any pets?
Sadly no, my fiancée and I both work long hours meaning it wouldn’t be fair having a pet in the house when were not in much of the time (and Jamie is scared of most animals, other than dogs – so anything else is off the cards, don’t tell him I told you though.. shh…!!)

15. Do you have any siblings?
I have one brother called Jacob who is 13 years old, recently just turned a little teenager!!

16. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I am actually starting my final year of university this September and afterword’s I will be a fully qualified teacher of RMPS which I am very looking forward to – 3 years down, 1 more to go… let’s do this!!

17. Who was you first best friend?
I spent a lot of my childhood with my auntie, she was my best friend growing up. I told her everything – she took me everywhere and I have some very amazing memories of me and my first ever best friend!!

18. How tall are you?
I think the correct question would be “How small are you?” because I am not very tall at all, I am 5ft 4. Which isn’t very tall at all! Most of my friends are nearly 6ft which makes me feel even smaller!

19. What phone do you have? (IOS V ANDROID?)
I have an IOS, a rose gold I phone 6s plus – I have had android before but iPhone is def my absolute favourite!!! Due an upgrade soon but think I’ll hold off for the iPhone 8!

20. How many countries have you visited?
This is a question that I genuinely could not answer accurately – I think I will just have to answer saying – NOT ENOUGH!
I love travelling and the many places I have been are still not enough, I will see the world!!!!

21. What was your favourite/ worst subject in High school?

My favourite subject in school was evidently RMPS hence why I am now studying to be a teacher of it myself and on the other hand my worst subject at school was maths. I HATED maths, I was good at it when I was in primary school but as I got older it was something that kind of just failed to progress. I really don’t like numbers!!!

22. Favourite Drink?
I love Irn Bru – how Scottish of me!

23. Favourite Perfume?
I love perfume, I used to work part time in a perfume shop which I adored as I find it so interesting finding all about how the perfumes are made and love how they are different depending on who wears them – my favourite perfume is Olympea by Paco Robanne.

24. How would you describe your fashion sense?
This is a very hard one as my fashion sense is all over the place. Some days I am very girly, florally and other days I’m in all black! Having looked in my closet I noticed that recently my clothes have been mostly white, black or grey – maybe my style is getting slightly more basic!

25. Favourite Youtubers?
I legit love so many Youtubers, but one of my favourites at the moment is a girl named Imogen on a channel called Imogenation. I genuinely could not explain how amazing she is! She is all about positivity and every video I watch of her instantly puts me in a good mood right away!
She is absolutely stunning as well!!

Well, this was fun and a bit different!

Took me a while to think of some of the answers to the questions as I wanted them to be completely honest and truthful. Feel like this tag is a really good way to explore the person I am and not just the person that comes across in my other blog posts.

Hope you enjoyed reading this just as much as I enjoyed writing it.
thank you for reading.
until next time,

LIFE UPDATE!

LIFE UPDATE!

Hey guys,

I know I have been completely MIA for months but I have been MEGA busy. I have felt like a real adult recently and everything in my life has been just a whirlwind of change. You get the hang of one thing and then something else takes off and changes its crazy!! But we all know change is the best thing ever because it means you are progressing and moving on from the past which cannot be a bad thing...

I have been doing the most amazing things lately that I couldn't be more proud of, one of the massive things that I have done is bought my own house with my amazing Fiance. We moved in, in october and we have been completely turning it upside down since. its been fabulous! Ive loved having free reigns to do what i want with every room in the house. I have particularly loved the fact I now have my own BEAUTY ROOM which means I now have the one place to put all my hair, skin and beauty products as much as I have enjoyed doing this room up, I would say this room has probably been the hardest to do because I have been so picky with it, doing something and then hating it then having to change it again and again until I am happy - I think that room is always going to reflect my personality and as my personality changes and adapts as I get older I think that room will change too.

My favourite part of the room is my CLOTHING RAIL - It was purchased from B&M Bargains (I can't find the link to the exact rail but they definitely have it in stores still as I have seen loads of them since I have bought it) - the rail for me was a great idea to put some of my least worn pieces of clothing, I went through my wardrobe and picked out the things that scream out the person I am and the person I want to be and this is how it looks now...

Before I had the real I was pondering through ways I could make use of my nicer pieces of clothing: you know what its like, us girls buy an outfit wear it on one night out and it goes back in the wardrobe never to see the light of day again. This really makes me quite upset as a lot of the outfits I've done this to are still absolutely beautiful and deserve to be shown off. I feel like having this real in my beauty room makes me more eager to wear something from it as I'm seeing it every day and it also works as some decoration to add depth and dimension to the room as a whole. The rail is full of warm colours, increasing the overall temperature of the room and from this increasing the positivity which is on high flows in the room. I love seeing all the sparks of pink through-out the rail. I have always been a pink girl and probably always will!! - IF YOU GUYS WANT TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO WITH HOME DECOR, JUST LET ME KNOW...

On top of getting the new house, Ive also just finished my 5 week placement. For the space of five weeks, I was going to placement all day Monday through to Friday and then working straight after until 10 o'clock at night. I WAS EXHAUSTED! - but every second of it was worth it and now I am one step closer to my dream job, its brilliant, I loved everything about what I was doing and felt like I had to grab a hold of my life and plan every inch of it and this had made me feel more organised and showed me I can do anything I put my mind to... My life needed a big clear out and having this opportunity to plan and prepare meant that every second was accounted for and I could appreciate every minute for what it was, a minute of my life I will never be able to get back, this meant I wanted to use my time wisely and thats exactly what I have done - (AGAIN IF YOU GUYS WANT ANY POSTS ABOUT ORGANISATION AND PLANNING, LET ME KNOW BECAUSE THIS IS SOMETHING I REALLY ENJOYED.)

I just wanted to take this opportunity to come on here and let you guys know that I have not vanished, I have not run away! I have just been incredibly busy but I have a little bit more time to focus on my blog because this place is somewhere that I can share my passion for make - up, beauty, hair, fashion and organisation. I LOVE having a blog and any time i start writing in it i feel a sense of achievement and accomplishment and I know that it can be overwhelming for me sometimes, having so much going on, but i just need to tell myself this is what life is for, put my mark out there and making my own little place I can go to and share my thoughts. My next post I have been working on will be a February favourites hopefully - so that will be up soon and I hope you enjoy it.

Love,
Bronwyn.

How to be organised for University, College or School?

20:46:00 0
How to be organised for University, College or School?

On a positive note we are now at the first few months of a new year at school, college of university, which to most of us means another chance at getting a handle of things... I don't know about everyone else but when I get to the months of going back to education, I start to mind plan, and start to think of all the things I want to do differently this year and it's always about being more organised and more focused in Uni!

I am in no way trying to come across like a whiz with organisation rules, but I definitely have a few pointers which I consider to be a MUST, when it comes to making sure you get everything done and on time...

I am a Uni commuter and this means that things are a little bit harder for me, and I have to be even more organised, because if I forget something I cannot just run back home to grab it, I am unfortunately 3 buses and 1 train away from my Uni so a lot of my time is spent on public transport.

My time has to be divided accurately and fairly to ensure each part of my life has a sufficient amount of time and energy dedicated to it and for this reason I have devised the following set of planning rules to help me make better use of my time and my resources...

1. Make the most of your time:-
This is something which is really important when it comes to being in full time education as the vast majority of your time is spent doing things like being in lectures, seminars or studying. This is why it is extremely important that your time is divided evenly between everything you have to do or want to do. I personally find that writing down everything I have to do, makes life that little bit easier, I am a list maker... this is one of my favourite things to do with my time, usually I use moments like sitting on the bus or train to write a little 'to do' list for the day ahead with regards to what work I have to do, appointments I have to make, or friends I have to visit. Even writing on the back of a crumpled up receipt while sitting on your local shuttle bus will give you that tiny little bit of organisation buzz.

2. Make sure you have all the right resources:-
When packing my bag for university I like to make a mental priority list, books come first, then pens, pencils, purse & anything else I am likely to need for that day in particular. This helps me stay organised as I know I can just reach into my bag and pull out the first thing I need without going through lots of different books and jotters that are not relevant for that day. On top of this, I have been making sure to use sturdier and better bags, I purchased this beautiful holographic bag from new look before the start of semester and I am in love with it. The bag itself is a fashion statement and is like Mary Poppin's bag, so I can fit so much of my valuable things in it.

3. Use a planner/diary/timetable:-
Recently I purchased Louise Pentland's (sprinkleofglitter) diary, which I am absolutely in love with. However what I should have realised before purchase is that it is a full yearly calender rather than an academic calender layout. Therefore sadly I cannot use it until January, so until then I have to use other boring diaries, but nether the less both do the same job. I ensure I use my planner to write out each assignment which is due and I use coloured highlighters to determine its importance within my days:

Pink - Urgent.
Orange - Quite important
Yellow - Can be done in due time.

From these three points I like to think I can organise my life, but we all have that little moment were we feel life is flying by and we haven't taken holds of the rails which is allowed at one point or another, so I hope that you can take something from my little organisation guide and some how benefit from my personal check listing and planning.

Thanks for reading guys,
have a fabulous day!
